In an era of challenge and frustration, it is vital to develop college students’ resilience and persistence. This is a simple but enlightening sentence which can be naturally associated with the significant role that resilience and persistence plays in enabling college students to succeed.
Living in a highly competitive and radically changeable world, college students are facing unprecedented challenges and frustrations in exam preparation or job hunting. Provided that those college students intend to prosper on the campus or thrive in the workplace, it is advisable for them to cultivate the quality of resilience and persistence. For one thing, resilience is like a spring which can enhance college students’ anti-frustration ability and enable them to gain confidence after a big failure or heavy blow. For instance, a weak-willed student may completely abandon his goal after a huge frustration, while the resilient student can adjust his personal status and restart his struggle. For another, success or progress of college students is derived from daily efforts and continuous accumulation. In this sense, persistence is the cornerstone which can not only enhance college students’ endurance but also enable them to maintain their willpower and self-discipline in the process of achieving their goals.
Just as the saying goes “Perseverance, stone can be carved”. only with resilience and persistence can one achieve great success.

生活在一个角逐激烈、瞬息万变的世界里，大学生们在备考或找工作时都面临着前所未有些挑战和挫折。假如这类大学生想在校园或职场上获得成功，可取的做法是培养他们的韧性和毅力。一方面，韧性就像一个弹簧，可以增强大学生的抗挫折能力，使他们在遭遇重大失败或沉重打击后重新获得信心。比如，意志薄弱的学生在遭受巨大挫折后或许会彻底舍弃我们的目的，而意志坚强的学生可以调整我们的状况，重新开始奋斗。其次，大学生的成功或进步源自平时的努力和持续的积累。从这个意义上说，坚持是基石，它不仅能够增强大学生的耐力，还能使他们在达成目的的过程中维持意志力和自律。
